Transition into Motherhood with Joy and Peace
Experience the ancient art of Rebozo Closing Ceremony—a ritual of nourishment, healing and empowerment.

What is Rebozo Closing Ceremony?
“It’s like a gift to the mother’s body and soul” Angelina Martinez Miranda

Rebozo Closing Ritual is much more than just a physical treatment. The ritual is done with the use of Rebozos (cotton woven Mexican scarves) to honor, celebrate, and nurture the new mother and close the period of pregnancy and birth.
It helps to end one cycle and aids the new mother to transition into a new one, the cycle of motherhood; regardless of how many children she has born and birthed.
After the ritual, the new mother feels emotionally and physically more aligned, supported, and nurtured whereby she steps into motherhood confidently, grounded, and present in her body.
We are using the term rebozo because the best scarves for performing the ritual are, in fact, rebozos. In honor of these amazing fabrics and the people who made them, we have used their original name, respecting the traditional usage.

Rebozo Closing Ritual
Who is it For?
Rebozo Closing Ritual is usually offered after vaginal birth, cesarean, or VBAC— even 20 years later. Its versatility also makes it suitable for other significant life transitions such as:
- Pregnancy loss or miscarriage.
- Menopause.
- Career changes.
- Moving homes.
- Relationship breakups.
This ritual is open to anyone who feels drawn to it and is suitable six weeks postpartum (or after you are no longer bleeding following birth or miscarriage). There are no time restrictions—it can be performed even years after the actual birth or loss.

Becoming a Mother: A Life-Changing Transformation
Becoming a mother is a process of unbecoming and growing into the person who cares for a child. After the intense task of birthing, an immediate shift takes place: the mother becomes the first caregiver for the tiny human who so desperately needs her.
It takes greatness, courage, surrender, endurance, tears, sweat, laughter, and transformation to journey into motherhood. In this task of unconditional service, it’s easy to forget one’s own needs.
We believe mothers deserve to be surrounded by people who remind them of the importance of returning to themselves after pregnancy and birth. By gently closing this period, they can reclaim their body and mind, transitioning into motherhood with peace, joy and support.
Begin Your Journey with Care and Connection
Whether you're preparing for childbirth, seeking healing, or looking to connect with a community of mothers, my holistic services are here for you.
What happens in a Closing Ceremony?
Physically, the ritual guides the mother back into her body:
- It realigns her bones.
- Helps her pelvic organs shift.
- Improves blood flow.
Women honoured in this way experience calm, grounding, and a re-established sense of self.
The ritual takes place in a warm, quiet, safe space (it can be your home). Traditionally in Mexico, it is performed by a midwife with another person present to assist—someone you choose who makes you feel safe, relaxed, and at peace.
The ceremony includes:
- Womb or full body massage
- Cacao Ceremony
- Sharing your feelings and reflections on the birth or life transition
- A herbal foot bath or full immersion herbal bath
- Wrapping with a series of woven fabrics (rebozos) from head to toe, creating a cocooned, soothing feeling.
- Optional: Spoken words, a song, or silence during the ritual.
Finally, you are unwrapped and welcomed back with a warm drink and something light to eat.

Birth Debriefing Session
How it works?
What happens in a Birth Debriefing session?
would invite you to go out for a walk before our session, and gather a selection of natural objects such as stones, feathers, leaves, flowers, sticks etc. When we come together for your session, I will invite you to retell the story of your birth, periodically choosing an object to represent the key people and events that took place in your birth, and placing them on a table in front of you, creating a visual, tangible 'constellation' of your birth.
Why do we use objects?
Choosing objects to represent people, and our relationships to them, alongside the environments they took place in, can bring new insights into what may be a very familiar story. It can bring a little distance from the story and help you to see things from a new perspective. It also offers the opportunity in this moment, as you relive certain aspects of your experience, to add in things that were needed or lacking in a particular moment of your birth; e.g. protection, privacy, or compassion. For instance if you felt crowded in your birth space, you could move the objects that represent those people and your surroundings until you find a configuration that feels right to you.
The objects themselves can sometimes bring insights too - for instance you may choose a dullbrown decaying leaf to represent one aspect of your story, while choosing a shimmering, smooth, rounded stone for another. Simply stating what we see when all is laid out in front of us can bring new insights and clarity to a story you may have revisited hundreds of times in your head.
Revisiting Your Birth Story with Clarity and Empowerment
A simple yet profound way of revisiting your birth story that aims to bring insight, clarity and empowerment
Whether you remember your birth with joy or with terror, chances are it was a life changing experience. The purpose of this session is to bring tenderness and insight to the difficult moments, while elevating and honouring the sweeter moments.
Our births - whether we enjoyed them or despised them (or somewhere in between) - hold gifts of insight for us. When the deep emotions can be safely held and felt, we free up energy to see more clearly what the personal learnings are and how we might integrate them into our lives as parents.
